SSL vs TLS
AUTH TLS instead of AUTH SSL?

I need to connect to an FTP server running both Explicit and Implicit SSL. It does not support TLS.

There are tons of Windows clients availble that work great for those (CuteFTP Pro is what I use), but Captain FTP seems to be the only one that supports FTP with SSL in OSX. The problem is that it only supports Explicit SSL (which I can live with), but it will only send the AUTH TLS command *instead* of the AUTH SSL command, which is what I actually need.

Can anyone tell me how I can make it communicate via SSL instead of via only TLS? The website says it is compatible wih ALL servers, including SSL, but if it is only capable of Explicit TLS, that seems to be less than true. However, I am really not concerned with claims so much as I am with getting it to work. Is this possible at all? I amm kind of in a bind, here, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Is ne good question. In the assistance document nothing is
located
from TLS. It seems actual to use however auth tls, but it
does not
show strengthens the encoding on

"SSH2_v3.6p6
AUTH TLS
234 AUTH TLS successful"

greets lennert

Use "Allow PROT C if PROT P not supported" - the option can be
found in server details in Address Book.
