| I have hundrets of files in one folder and I would just like to overwrite the ones that have been altered (ie. are newer). Captainftp doesn't ask for that it just asks: Overwrite yes or no?
What can I do? |

A disappointed forum user. |

| From another user: use the "synchronize folders" command in the remote menu. You can specify what kind of synchronization you want and you can make it only upload the files you desire to the server. |

| What is the margin allowed when determining the difference between date and time difference between files?
For example, I export files to the site on my client (in tinderbox) which then may be synchronised within 12 hours according to schedule.
Or, alternatively I export from software to disc in HTMl (local site folder), and then manually upload the folder in Captain ftp say, within two hours. Do I have to do it immediately? If so, then clearly scheduling wont work if it is only once in 24 hourso ,r once a a week.
Does schedule do a mirror?
Also, with 'ignore time' selected in mirror synch, then minor revisions won't be noticed, just by size will they?
What's the best way to approach this. |

| When you make the synchro for the first time - Captain FTP "equals" the dates of transferred files. It means it sets dates of the local files which was uploaded or downloaded to the same as on the remote. Next synchro will not touch the unchanged files because their dates will match those on the remote. |

| Excellent. Does it equalise the dates each time it does a sync? Is a sync performed with Schedule? |

| 1. Yes - the date is reset each time the file is transferred
2. Nop - synchro can't be scheduled |
